Here at the Sitsiam Camp/Buddhai Swan Ashton-under-Lyn, Manchester we teach not only Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) but the Thai Martial Arts which incoporates:
KRABI KRABONG – Thai weapons system. Not just the study of Thai weapons but the Way of the Warrior, an understanding of the art of combat, tactics and technique. Krabi Krabong teaches the student how each weapon is effective and how this can be extended to their body’s natural weapons using the same principles.
MUAY BORAN/MUAY KAACHEURK – Old-style boxing or fighting with rope bound fists. This was the original form of Muay Thai which includes locks and throws and many techniques which are considered too dangerous for the modern sport of Muay Thai (Thai Boxing). “Muay Boran Sitsiam Camp“.
MUAY THAI – The most famous and most popular of the martial arts of Thailand. At Sitsiam we don’t teach just for competition, we teach the ART of Thai Boxing with correct movement and footwork – the Yang Sarm Khum, and breathing techniques which are an essential aspect of maximising the techniques’ effectiveness. Most Sitsiam students train in Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) to improve their fitness or for self defence purposes but for those who wish to test their skills in the ring, Sitsiam Camp take part and organise regular competitions both at home and abroad.
At present Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) are very popular – MMA is just what it says – a mixture of martial arts from different cultures. The nucleus of MMA is Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) for the striking techniques and either Ju Jitsu, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Judo, Akido or Wrestling for throwing techniques, locks and holds.
The Thai Martial Arts developed over 600 years, is tried and tested, not only in the Muay Thai ring but also on the battlefield thus the three aspects Muay Thai, Muay Boran/Muay Kaacheurk and Krabi Krabong combined are
