Sitsiam Camp and the Buddhai Swan Institute, Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester welcome any clubs or camps wishing to bring a group of their students
to train for a day, a weekend or even longer in
Specialist Classes for Muay Thai, Muay Kaacheurk/Muay Boran or Krabi Krabong.
Sitsiam Camp in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, Manchester is regularly visited by Instructors and students to train in our specialist classes from all over the UK and worldwide including the USA, France, Holland, South Africa, Norway and Ireland.
Our Chief Instructor, Kru Tony Moore assisted by his senior instructors will be on hand throughout the specialist Classes to assist, advise and perfect all the techniques being taught.
As a tribute, the Sitsiam Camp has been carefully recreated to resemble the former Buddhai Swan Institute in the Nongkam Area of Bangkok, Thailand. The Institute was where the late Grandmaster Por Kru Samai Messamarn taught the Royal Thai Bodyguards and also the world-renowned Buddhai Swan demonstration team who were famous for their re-enactments of noted battles and the exploits of historic warriors such as Nai Khanom Dtom, King Naresuan the Great and Pra Chao Taksin performed for the Thai royal family.

This was the first of many of the Specialist Classes here at The Buddhai Swan School of Excellence.
Kru Jon Nicholas from T1 Muay Thai and Kru Julian Forbes from Silapa Camp organised their respective camps to attend a Krabi Krabong seminar which gave an insight into various weapons including, Plong (staff), Mai Sawk (wooden armshields), Gnao (halberd/spear-like weapon) and of course the Daab (Thai sword).
After 3 hours intensive training, the teachers and some of their students gave demonstrations using the different weapons.
This first Specialist Class was a huge success. Kru Jon and Kru Julian will be returning soon to the Buddhai Swan School of Excellence for a seminar in Awudt Boran (Muay Boran/Muay Kaccheurk).
Sitsiam Camp/Buddhai Swan would like to thank Kru Jon Nicholas, Kru Julian Forbes and Kru Simon Batty for helping to promote the Thai Martial Arts by bringing their student to train in the Art of Krabi Krabong.
Awudt Muay Boran
Since the Sitsiam Camp/Buddhai Swan Institute opened it’s doors to all instructors and students wishing to study all the different aspects of the Thai Martial Arts, the response has been unprecedented.
The latest seminar conducted at the Camp was Awudt Muay Boran and consisted of a more detailed explanation of the art of Muay Boran/Muay Kaacheurk and correcting some of the misconceptions and misinformation surrounding the art which have been propounded on the internet.
The seminar followed the syllabus, researched from the original techniques, by the late “Por Kru” Samai Messamarn of the world-renowned Buddhai Swan Institute in Thailand. This syllabus has been handed down with the original documented research directly from Por Kru to Kru Tony Moore.
These types of seminars have proven to be extremely beneficial to Muay Thai Camps wishing to learn and understand the history and development of their chosen sport. Sitsiam Camp/Buddhai Swan would like to thank Kru Jon Nicholas of the T1 Muay Thai Camp and Kru Julian Forbes of the Silapa Muay Thai Camp for their assistance in promoting the Thai Martial Arts by bringing their students to train in the Art of Awudt Muay Boran.

Muay Thai Seminar
We at Waterford Muaythai recently visited Sitsiam camp for a specialist training session.
It was the most knowledgeable training session we’ve ever experienced.
Kru Tony Moore’s way of explaining every aspect of Muaythai is explained in a very enjoyable friendly way and he makes it so easy to grasp.
Kru Tony is easily the most knowledgeable person on Muaythai that we have ever met and is equally as humble.
This specialist training session is a must for any true Muaythai exponent.
Krabi Krabong Seminar
Thank you for putting on a great Krabi Krabong seminar on Saturday, it was well worth the long journey from London. I would also like to thank your assistant Kru’s for passing on their knowledge and also their willingness to be patient, as it was’nt easy. I must admit I don’t know what I found more enjoyable the practical side or listening to your philosophy, both were inspiring. If only there were more Instructors (Arjan’s) like yourself!
I Look forward to seeing you in the near future.
Yours in Thai,
Muay Boran Seminar
Just a quick email to let you know, that the feedback from my students has been amazing about the Seminar last week.
There was a mixture of amazement that the art existed, confusion about why they couldn’t get things right, but mostly gratitude that they were given the opportunity to train and learn.
I would therfore like to pass on my gratitude to yourself and your students for what was one the best days I have had in a long while.
So thanks and I look forward to being able to train with you again in the not too distant future.
Kindest regards and Many thanks
